Next you need to locate the mounting holes for the motors. To do this you will need to tape the motor assembly in place and trial fit the cowl. The firewall has a built in right offset so the mounting holes should be right of center when looking from the front of the plane.

Once you find the right location, drill the hole and put in the blind nut supplied with the InnerDemon gear drive. Make sure that you have holes in the firewall large enough to allow the speed controls to pass through.

Solder the speed controls on to each motor. Slide the rear clamp mounts on to each motor along with the hose clamp. Then mount the InnerDemon posts.

Don't forget to blue Locktite these screws. Next, slide the rear clamps to the firewall and screw them in place. Then tighten the hose clamps.

You will need to cut holes in the secondary firewall to allow each speed control to pass through. Note the location of the Rx battery.

The power batteries are mounted from the inside of the plane. 4-10 cell packs are required. 2 packs are taped together. I epoxied a 3/8 inch diameter carbon tube to a half inch hardwood block then taped this to the bottom of the pack as shown.

The Extra comes with a large hatch to access the inside of the plane. From the inside, I drilled 2 holes into the secondary firewall as shown below.

To hold the Velcro straps, I added another 3/8 inch diameter carbon tube. It was epoxied to the plywood sheet below the wing tube sleeve. It stiffens the plywood and is epoxied to the sides of the fuse.

The carbon tube on the battery fits into one of the holes in the secondary fire wall. The back of the battery rests on the wing tube sleeve and is held in place with the Velcro strap.

The control lines from the speed controls should be plugged into a "Y" harness and this should be plugged into channel 3 of the Rx.

Before doing any tests, make sure that the brake is turned off on both speed controls. You will need to do each motor separately. The method is:

1 - turn off the Rx battery switch
2 - unplug the power battery
3 – turn on Tx and move throttle to full on
4 – plug in power battery, turn on Rx switch
5 – wait for beep, move throttle to off, wait for beep
6 – test motor to see if brake is off
7 – repeat the process for the other speed control

Finally, make sure to apply grease (supplied with the InnerDemon) to the gears. I would recommend applying a little grease before each flight. You can reach the gearbox without removing the cowl.

When you do a ground test, I would suggest that you get help holding the plane. I recommend holding on to the wing and fuse. The stabilizer is removable and I don't recommend hold on to it. The thrust is substantial and the plane can easily get away from you. Please be very careful.

The flight performance of this plane is excellent. I use maximum deflection on the ailerons and rudder and about 1 inch on the elevator. The only caution on landing is to keep a little throttle on because the large prop will slow the plane down quickly when it is free wheeling. Otherwise, this is a very easy plane to fly and land. It is beautiful in the air and the performance is awesome.
